5 Things, Oct. 15: Committee, Cops, Candidates

The local school board meeting and the Smithfield Police Department's citizens academy make the list of 5 Things to Know today for Oct. 15, 2012.

 

 

1. Committee: The Smithfield School Committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 pm at the high school. According to the agenda [find a .pdf attached to this article], there's a second vote scheduled on the 2012-13 school calendar, which now includes Jewish, Hindu, and Muslim holidays.

2. Cops: Want to learn more about law enforcement? The Smithfield Police Department kicks off its Citizens Police Academy tonight at 7 pm. Don't worry if you haven't signed up yet — Ptlm. Braxton [(401) 231-2500, ext. 202] says they'll take registrations until next Monday. 

3. Candidates: Which of the Presidential candidates [there are actuall four, you know] do your beliefs match? Check out this online quiz — you might be surprised.
