National Night Out - Join the Smithfield Education Foundation at National Night Out Aug. 6 from 3-8 p.m. at The Crossings. The Smithfield Education Foundation is the beneficiary of the raffles this year. Playground help - The Old County Road Playground Project's phase II install is scheduled for Aug. 24, and they're looking for volunteers. Contact Heather at 401-578-6140 or hbyrnes@verizon.net.

Music at the Crossings
 - Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting, The Crossings at Smithfield will present The One Foot In band at the industrial park's gazebo. Bring a blanket.
