East Smithfield Library to Host Scavenger Hunt

Kids will have the chance to play detective while learning important library skills.

On Saturday, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the East Smithfield Public Library  (50 Esmond St.) will host a Scavenger Hunt at part of its Saturday Specials event series for kids.

Children in grades 3-5 are invited to put on their thinking hats, sharpen up their eyeballs and stop by the library to have some fun with friends as they participate in the exciting activity. During the event, they will learn about the Dewey Decimal System and how to search for materials in the library - an invaluable skill to have.

Following the Scavenger Hunt, children can take part in an activity in which they will become detectives looking for specific items. Once the children use their super sleuth skills to uncover the items, they will present their findings to the group.

To register, contact Children’s Librarian Babs Wells at 231-5150 x3.
