Tuesday Five: Race Volunteers Needed, Drug Take-back, Bryant Research

We're a day closer to summer - check out these things to know:

Road Race Volunteers sought - The Smithfield YMCA is still looking for volunteers to help out at Saturday's F. Monroe Allen 5K Road Race and Big Truck Day & Healthy Kids Day April 27, 9 a.m. at the Smithfield YMCA,  15 Deerfield Dr.  We need course marshals to help direct the runners where to go and hold traffic as needed - this can count as community service for Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts or High School Students! Call Shauna at 401-949-2480 ext. 12 for more info.

Drug takeback day - The Smithfield Police Department will Participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday April 27. The purpose of the event is to provide a venue for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. These events are a huge success in removing potentially dangerous prescription drugs, particularly controlled substances, from medicine cabinets.
