Nancy Moretti Appointed to be Department Chair of Early Childhood Education at Penn Foster

Penn Foster, a leader in career-focused online and hybrid education designed to address the skills gap in America, today announced the appointment of Nancy Moretti as Department Chair for Early Childhood Education. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of early care and education, Moretti has worked as a teacher assistant, lead teacher, head teacher, director and executive director in the childcare industry, and is the owner of Just for Kids Early Childhood Learning Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island. At Penn Foster, Moretti is responsible for the management of instructional staff in the Early Childhood Education program.

Moretti spoke at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Annual Conference on Nov. 23 on career opportunities in the field of early childhood education and development. She discussed how these fields offer a large array of options, providing extremely satisfying work to individuals passionate about working with young children.  The panel discussion covered best practices in setting goals for educational and career endeavors and everything students need to land their dream jobs.

After receiving a diploma in child day care from Penn Foster, Moretti went on to earn an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and special education from the Community College of Rhode Island, a bachelor’s degree in child development from Concordia University and a master’s degree in early childhood education administration from Nova Southeastern University.  Moretti is currently a candidate for a doctoral degree focused on early childhood education at Northcentral University. Prior to joining Penn Foster, Moretti began her career in higher education in April of 2006. She is an RI certified early childhood educator, a PA Keys certified higher education instructor, and a Professional Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition.
