Cell Tower Company Buys Smithfield Land

One of nation's largest cell-tower companies has purchased 26 acres in Smithfield.

Global Signal Acquisitions, a subsidiary of Crown Castle International, one of the largest cell-tower companies in the country, has purchased 26 acres of land in Smithfield, reports The Valley Breeze and Observer. 

The land, purchased for $913,000, is located in the Putnam Pike commercial area. The 

The company Crown Castle, based in Texas, owns more than 22,000 cell phone towers and other sites throughout the country, according to the article.
