Friday Five: Race, Audubon, Reading, Calendar, Receive

The weekend is nigh - check out these things to know:


Race: Walk or run the Race for Rutledge 5K at Bryant University to honor Peter Rutledge tomorrow. Peter was the Assistant Director of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) and Peer Tutoring on campus. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in April 2011 and battled with it for 18 months before passing away in August 2012, leaving behind his wife, Cari, and two sons. Registration is $25 for individuals and $200 for groups. Registration and check-in is at 10 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m. All proceeds go Peter's family. Audubon story time  - Audubon Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge, 12 Sanderson Road hosts a story time today: "Chipmunk Song" by Joanne Ryder. Program Times are 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Program Fee: $5/member child; $6/non-member child. Ages: 3-5. Course Number: 114333-291
