Gift Collection: Also this weekend and through Dec. 7, the Smithfield Police Department is teaming up with businesses at the Crossing at Smithfield to collect holiday gifts for less fortunate children in Smithfield and throughout the state.

New and unwrapped toys, clothing, and gift cards can be dropped into any of the bins located at Crossing merchants, or brought to the police department.
