Post Your Snow Pics on Patch

The first significant snowstorm in a year may hit us overnight Saturday. Share your pictures with Patch.

We haven't seen much snow around here in almost a full calendar year, but the first significant snowstorm of the season may be hitting overnight Saturday.

The forecasts vary greatly — calling in Smithfield for as little as 2 inches on the low end to as many as 10 on the high end — but it seems likely the area will get at least some significant snowfall. As of 4:43 p.m. on Friday, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts that will be in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

The local forecast calls for snow to begin late morning Saturday and continue into the night, mostly ending around 2 a.m., though some flurries could continue into the morning.

The novelty of the white stuff after a full year is sure to bring winter lovers outside. Sunday should bring mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the low-30s, perfect conditions to head out and enjoy the snow. We want to share in your fun.

Whether you build a snowman, take a stroll through the woods or watch the kids battle it out in a good ole fashioned snowball fight, we want to see your pictures. Simply click the "Upload Photos and Videos" button on the right, or add them to our Pics & Clips page

We also want to keep track of snowfall totals around the town. Let us know in the comments section below how much fell in your backyard.
