Town Council - Smithfield's Town Council meets tonight, 6 p.m., for a work session at the Smithfield Senior Center, 1 William J. Hawkins Jr. Trail. Among the things on their agenda are a discussion of Department Budgets for FY 2013-2014 and a presentation by Churchill and Banks on a proposed property development plan. 

Old County Box Tops - Old County Road School PTA needs volunteers to help prepare box tops for submission. Interested parties should leave a comment on their facebook page. "It is easy and many hands make the job quicker...and earn OCRS free $," the PTA callout reads.

YMCA Dolphin Slide - Don't miss the Giant Dolphin slide (inflatable water slide) event March 1: The Dolphin Slide Session 1 runs 6:45 – 7:30 p.m. and Session 2 is 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Members must pre register for this special event. Call (401) 949-2480.

Board post openings - The town is seeking members to serve on the Sewer Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, Affordable Housing Advisory Board, and Financial Review Commission. Interested parties should submit a letter of interest to the Town Manager’s Office, 64 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917 along with an application form.  A letter of interest may contain your interest or experience in the field of each particular board or commission that you are applying for and, optionally, résumé information.
