Frederic S. Rowley: Postman, Volunteer Fireman, Vietnam Veteran
Frederic S. Rowley, 67, of Greenville, a retired mail carrier, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at his home, according to the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home.
He was the husband of Deborah (Mooney) Rowley.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John and Rosamond (Lace) Rowley, he lived in Smithfield his whole life.
Mr. Rowley was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and later received his master’s degree from Rhode Island College. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Smithfield Fire Department. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He was an Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Smithfield Sportsmens’ Club.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Stephen H. Rowley of Providence, Jason H. Rowley of Chepachet and Rebecca L. Tremblay of Johnston; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jonathan and three sisters, Rosamond Hohman of Grafton, MA, Meredith Smith of Scituate and Ann Prokopowicz of Cranston. He was the brother of the late John Rowley.
A Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. There are no visiting hours. His burial will be private.
