Michael A. Miller: Doting Father, Grandfather, RI Ground Water Association Member

Michael A. Miller, 58, of Contillo Drive, Johnston, died at on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Intake Center surrounded by his loving family, according to Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home

He was the husband of Carol J. (McCaughey) Miller. They were married for 34 years.

Born in Northhampton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Donald and Jean (Royer) Miller. He was raised in Smithfield by his adopted parents, the late Roy and Gail (McMahon) Jaswell. He moved to Johnston 34 years ago, previously living in Greenville.

He was the owner and operator of Water Well Systems and had previously worked for the family business, Roy Jaswell and Son. He was a member of the RI Ground Water Assn. and avid Red Sox fan.

Michael, “King of Fun” loved being a father to his children: Marisa A., Matthew R. and Alycia L. Miller, all of Johnston. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Devon M. and Kaylee E. Atkinson and siblings: Roy P. III, Louis M. Jaswell, both of Greenville, John E. Jaswell of Coventry, Lisa G. Gazin of Kennett Square, PA and Jennifer L. Jaswell of Jamestown, Richard Doyle of Dayville, CT and Kelly Hoyt of Coventry. He was the brother of the late Michael S. Jaswell.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the  Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Park. Visitation will be Monday 7:30 - 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street Providence, RI 02904.
