Obituary: Roger Stephen Achille, 76

Roger Stephen Achille of Smithfield passed away Tues., Jan. 8 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was 76 years old. He leaves behind his companion Donna Cocozza and was husband of the late Joan (Adams) Achille.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the later Roger and Anna (Uliano) Achille. He worked as a school administrator in the Providence School Department for 32 years before retiring.

He is survived by his children – Karen Maki and her husband Erik of Holliston, MA; Roger Achille and his wife Donna of Mansfield, MA; and James Achille and his wife Kathleen of Woonsocket. He also leaves behind a brother (William Achille of North Providence) and a sister (Donna Achille of Delray Beach, FL). He is also survived by his granddaughters, Amanda, Elisabeth and Lauren. He was the brother of the late, Arlene Callendar and Stephen Achille. 

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
