Phillps observed a sliding door at the back of the property had been partially removed from the jam at the top, but was still closed at the bottom. Also, the lock was damaged and it appeared as if someone had tried to pry open the door.

The face of the lock on a second back door had been removed with a screwdriver and was damaged near the deadbolt. Both doors appeared to have been kicked.

Shortly after, police received another alarm call from a nearby home on Stillwater Road. Officer Scott Hopkins responded to that location within minutes and discovered the front door wide open. Inside the home, he found a window that had apparently been pried open with a screwdriver.

The only thing of value taken from the home was a jar of coins worth approximately $50.
