Wednesday Five: Frigid, Diner, Parents, Facebook, Trash

Welcome to Wednesday - bundle up, and check out these things to know:

Frigid - It's going to be extremely cold the next few days. Stay inside if you can, wear layers if you have to go out, and pick up a pair of heavy wool socks. We've got more tips on dealing with extreme cold this morning. Read up and stay warm!

Diner for lease - Been itching to start up a new restaurant? Neighborworks Blackstone River Valley is offering experienced restauranteurs a lease of the diner car once home to “Champs Diner,” on Park Avenue, now waiting a new tenant and customers at 719 Front St. The car was one of more than 600 diners produced by the Worcester Lunch Car and Carriage Manufacturing Company.

Applications to win the lease, including a resume and business plan, are due Feb. 13.

Parent Committee The Parent Committee is seeking new members. The committee is an important way for parents to be involved in a child’s education. Parent involvement sets higher goals for the child and helps them appreciate learning both at home and at school. It’s a great opportunity to meet other TCW families. Come out Thursday, Jan. 24, 5-6 p.m. at 22 Cedar Swamp Road.
