Castelli, US Team Win Bronze in Team Skate

Team USA skated to a bronze medal in Sunday's inaugural team skate event.

Team USA pulled away with a bronze medal Sunday in the first-ever team skate event of the XXII Winter Games in Sochi. Grabbing gold was Team Russian followed by Canada with the silver medal.

Cranston's Marissa Castelli and her pairs partner, Simon Shnapir, took to the podium with the rest of the US figure skating team, including Jeremy Abbott, Jason Brown, Ashley Wagner, Gracie Gold, and ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White. 

The medal ceremony will be Monday night in Olympic Park.

Gold, from Massachusetts, locked the bronze for the U.S. with her second-place finish in the women's free skate. She finished second to Russian teen prodigy, Yulia Lipnitskaya.
